Dec. 25.
As I passes a flock of white &
goldencrowned sparrows this
morning they all flew away
except one which proved to be
neither white crowned nor
golden-crowned. Was larger,
streaked on shoulders and scap-
ular and had black spots on
white breast.
Dec. 28. Saw same bird again in
same place. Telephoned Mr. Grinnell
about it. From my description
he thought it must be a Harris
Sparrow, which is very rare -
only two records in state.
Dec. 30. Saw sparrow again. It has
a black line on either side of
the throat and the top of the head to
