I presume thin incubation started effectively next day after the fifth egg was laid or even later though it hatched 6th egg behind others. left at 53d. After 6 - Arrived at 940 - no eggs hatched Nos. 4 and 6 inspected - 4 showed anythin out furhing. 6 was punctured out in one place as others were yesterday - 3 - had many pushings out. Returned bird to return - they flushed again - in fact several times - The seemed very shy flushups in part due to swam morning and the presence of V - an extra mom. At 10 - the egg was seen with ½ cm hole broken out - egg no 2 - hole where claw marks or as how? full must have been pip was located. Bird dry and Breathing very noticeably - bright orange in color - . During next hour - bird left frequently - I am almost sure sometime with egg shell fragments as at 1030 hole was
