March 28 Went to no 7 - first surveying about 845- Birds seen on wire SE of old farms - flew over & fence line SE. Then I found them on two posts 50ft apart - B - a singer meant road. Some a creek heard from creek by road. And An answering llyeck by supposed male. Then to any note or two by the bird by road which then came our plucking one foot W of S - sat fairly Original B sang several trills. Then I think other male sang a little but was difficult & still seemed of song. The sat thus for 5 min. & at 50-75 yds, feeding along from wester & fed but not flying each other Suddenly original B attacked other on why clock together our field - much shuffling of beaks - no notes - apparently clashed. invader towards - often bird seeing Defence post. Invader - flew high - and was watched for 2 min rid air when it disappeared on horizon - leaving volley W. Pair Som moved along hill toward Oak - one bird in top - other several times went to tree - once
