Male did not appear by ten - I fear he has met with trouble as never before has he or she failed to join mate in attack after a few minutes. - Left with one young high in tree - other 4 in nest. No 3 - both birds seen on wire above nest tree at 8.45 - At 10.30 - I went to tree and found one young sitting above nest & rather - other could not be seen in dense foliage or else were gone - birds not as demonstrative as before. - This about the 19th or at least 18th day from hatching - can not fly yet. Young cage bird - can not fly yet. Still gives screech - note occasional whistle trying to get out of cage but not as quick as before. Can hop faith 6 inches and hit with accuracy on pouch - still clings rather than jump when on hand A fine coating of feather scales was noticed below his usual pouch. He can cling well to upright slippery parts of metal scale - chasingly selfwrap and holding
