waited - no warning notes given -
both parents sat and perched on the rail perches. Young moving
about at frequent intervals -
turning head and I presume
preening as did cage birds. Parents
reappeared in active in 15 min.
Then q left and returned at 1020-
with terrible food to feed - me
only receiving. - She at
once pitched up and removed
large great one which she
took down the grill - shifted
and then wiped bill. Q then
sat around for a time. Male
left and then fed young at
1035 - went to one edge of nest
and fed - then waited while
swadd heads raised and then
dipped twice to a later raised head
whilst other edge of nest. Did not
clean nest. At 1045 I approached-
young did not help me but
pecked low and chung with great
tenacity at nest and bill. It
was most difficult to remove and
weigh them! The larger birds gave
a screech - like note - husky as
did young at 3 but not so brilliant
as those at 3 - only a trace of
this in one of them - then it
lapsed into begging and tried to
