March 12 7th day
no 6 - arrived at 230 - young
warm but did not raise header.
Shin tummy dark - bill - shaft
edge dark dusky flesh color.
Feathers - all showing tips loose on
back through 1mm long only - Sheather
of some of secondary 2 mm long.
Birds banded and weighed. Female
jumped thirteen as well as male
who acted precisely as yesterday.
♀ had lower (stightly) bills intumes
Shrieks of jay sort - also gave cattle.
Did not come as close as ♂ - extent
was 6 ft. by ♀ - aft by ♂.
I finished at 315 when ♀ returned
at once - ♂ to N perch & gave a few-
jay screeches.
♀ Female jumped off once or twice in
newfound flood five minutes off. I heard to beg
once while I was disturbing young.
Young entirely hungry at present. - not
dead to feel as old and too young, did
not beg when out of nest even as last
timer yesterday and bird had attempted
to swallow wing of another fledgling it
in to any fit. - Repelled it with
difficulty.
325 - male approached - no visible
food. Did not go & yet but gave 2-
screeches (jay) & defeated ♂ in
