Bird were supplied and found to have the journal feather broken there and white pectoral tips just visible - the essential obdminell down seems to be worn off east or at least changed in appearance - the single note- occupies the centre of the future beat. All eyes are open but triple of experiment. -Bird opens up even when held in hand or in the scales - but soon tire and drop head flat and lie shrewd as if dead. B - made much fuss today coming within 1ft of head - weak open - chattering and giving most pugilient style & quill scratch also this jay-like screech. I sat nearby but not close and made no notice. B thus, did all the attaining. Once 'stuff' I had left the nest - the male moved away giving occasional jay-like screeches and female shifted in and brooded. - did not feed - this at 5.20. - Bird brooded then was fightened at 5.30 at which time. Some attack nummed. I left at 5.30.
