secure. Birds had come to sit at
Stratton as I climbed down
one attempted to get out the
shield off. One of birds gave a
break. I walked under tree -
Birds very tame. - Left after being
at nest 60 mins at 3 P.M. -
Went to no 7 - bird not seen & flinch
eggs warm - weighed with some
difficulty due to stiff brigs locally -
day clear with light breeze gustally -
Warm in sun (comfortable 52°)
Bird came a gave ratchet click
within 15 ft. once while I was
at the nest. - otherwise not seen or
heard - a bird (?) within 30 yards
west and fell south - the usual
outpost as I approached. Flying
and frequently flurries rise - thin to
60-70 yds from nest.

Cruised no 6 - at 4:05 - Birds
not at nest - young bird heads
off for food at both breath whistle
or bird disturbance. Feathers all
becoming slatted but partly
broken from surface of skin.
Saw & fed finch on East Juba.
- a lark came to nest which is
in warm sun. Brooded for 5 min
