California Plain Titmouse F22838 was caught in a Pattee trap. F17,738 was caught in a government Harrow trap; both on the ground, among bushes. F17,738, when I approached the trap, repeatedly uttered his (or her) "tseck-a-dee- de" cry; when released, flew into a bush close by, and seemed to scold me loudly with the same cry. F17,750 caught in a Pattee trap under buckthorn; while in the trap another Titmouse, presumably its mate, was fluttering about in a brush close by, and uttering its "tseckadee" cry. When I released the trapped bird, both flew away. Bonded by Elabangh Strawberry Canyon 9/6/25. Repeated 1/3/16. Dwarf Helmet Shrub A3281 Found dead by the side of road, near Poultry Station, 3/12/31. Strawberry Canyon. Had been dead about 3 days. Either killed by some animal, or else had been chewed after death. [illegible]. See Page 64. April 8th '31, began baiting trap N exclusively with hulled barley.
