9/8-18 Murarium Canyon - from mirar- ium to main canyon, up above junction 1/2 mi., and down to auto road. About 10 traps in artemisia to north of road below bridge. 20 traps on bean farm along edge of hill; 60 traps in all: crem. J's 12 {5 adult {6 adol. " q's 8 {5-adult {3-adol. Terog. J's 1 - q's 3 calif. J's 3 1/2 -jun. 20 q's Reid. J's 2 Mud 1 Though I did not make note of it in my original trapping record, I feel quite sure that some of the cremicus were trapped in the lower part of the canyon. Apparently, following the trapping out of the gambeli, cremicus moved down the canyon taking possession of the "ecologic niche" formerly held by gambeli. No gambeli caught!
