Depth of beak .30 inches, Distance from tip of beak
to the wing (carpal joint) 2.01? inches, Blind
Toe >9 inches, Wing falls short of tail by .69 inches.
Down mandible .65 inches. Color: on throat golden
yellow gradually changes to yellow olive green on
sides of abdomen, under color of feathers reddish,
crest yellow brown, fading into olive green yellow
on back, wings blade brown tinged with olive green
tail similar, under tail covert light yellow.
Feet slate dark blue, beak blue black; under side of foot
yellowish white. Dorsa, dark, almost black. Adult
male, and in full plumage. Was in full song
when shot. Found on Honuik Ranch at >,500 foot
elevation on Aug. 18, 1903 up in the Maunane above
the Wianua road.
