Color, bright scarlet. Length 6 inches. Found
at 4000 foot elevation, at upper edge of coffee
field in the corn field on Danni's Ranch
Hamakua Hawaii, July 24, 1903. Food, gum
catpillars, etc; at this time of the year.
Mate, possible a young one. Dang curved
bill. Not breeding.
