Color, dark scarlet, white on the abdomen and black on
the tail and wings. Length 5.25 inches. Found in
Kukaien Field, Manis' Ranch, Hamakua, Hawaii.
Date collected Dec. 24. 1902. Male. Slightly curved
bill, black in cola. Elevation 4000 feet.
