Petrel sp. light phase Too far to see ramp White underparts - didn't see underwings. Either Bonin or Phoenix - smallish seen by watch 1230 Shearwater/Petrel 1 N 1234 Masked Booby 1 SE 1240 Petrel sp. 1 SE brown backed - underparts white - similar underwing to Bonin but slightly too large & flopped too much - didn't look like a Bonin - stayed lower but flatter 1246 Petrel White-necked Petrel Petrel? 1 SE Wt to 25yds. off starboard 6 ft. 1300 White-necked Petrel? 1 C Wt to 50 ft. apparently frightened by ship flew in front of ship twisting and turning like a gull it then flew up (at least 50 ft) and circled around the ship to the stem crossing to opposite side it had been on seen by watch 1307 Shearwater/ Petrel 1 NW 1307 Harcourt's Storm Petrel 1 Type B 1311 Sooty Shearwater? 1 N 1320 Dark-rumped Petrel 1 SE 50 yds. off starboard 1327 Shearwater sp. 1 observed by watch
