Might have been a ledge but I don't think so. Nec'd white bat not particularly broad brown above, white breast & belly - brownish under tail coverts, underwing prominent with white area in middle just noticeable - medium sized - white headed look - not entirely white but lighter colored from lower mantle not a very broad nec'd band but white 1229 W.N./J.F.P 1 1235 [illegible]petal 2 1611 Sleek-billed 1 E circled fairly close to ship over oil slick. all dark - slender, long wings, [illegible] medium sized - landed twice in water, & flew off to E 1750 End observations Semat ca 1739
