Christmas Island Progress Report Page 2 Motu Upua Two nights spent here by the whole party and an additional night by 2 members. 21 species were recorded of which 6 were breeding. 31 individuals of 8 species of birds were collected. This includes 4 specimens of Laughing Gulls. 30 blood samples were collected from 33 individuals of 3 species. 4 mice and 1 rat were collected. 3767 individuals of 4 species were banded. (120 miles of driving) Two members visited Northwest Point for 6 hours on the 25th. Seventeen species were recorded and 1135 birds of 4 species were banded.
