footed Albatross following right behind the ship. This marks the first one
that actually followed the ship.
1130--Two Sooty Terns passed the ship.
1132-- One Bulwer's Petrel passed close in on starboard side. Also one Wedge-tailed
Shearwater and three Sooty Terns.
Since our last report we have been eating lunch, and it is now 1211. Once
< Black-footed Albatross behind the ship at the time. Also one Red-tailed
Tropicbird flying overhead. The Albatross reported earlier, right after we
left Nihoa, did not stay with the ship very long. The one following the
ship, now, however, does not appear to be the same one. This one has a
white patch on its rump.
1213--One Bulwer's Petrel off starboard side flying east.
1215--Two Bulwer's Petrels off starboard side.
1217--One Bulwer's Petrel crossed the bow.
1220--One Bulwer's Petrel crossed bow, headed in a northeast direction. Also
three
Sooty Tern overhead.
1222--Two Bulwer's Petrels crossed bow, headed northeast. Also, two more
Sooty Terns
1224--Two Fairy Terns, one of which is way off on the port side. The other is
way off starboard stern.
1226--One Bulwer's Petrel off stern. Also five Sooty Terns off port side, crossing
to our stern.
1228--One Bulwer's Petrel off stern. Also one Fairy Tern off starboard stern,
headed east.
1230--The Black -footed Albatross which has been with us since it was reported
is still with us. There are also now two Fairy Terns, three Fairy Terns,
