Mayhew
1951
Mallard
32.
May 11 Conaway Ranch, 2 mi. east of Woodland, Yolo Co., Calif.
by a ♂. The remainder of the ♂
were seen either singly or in groups
up to 5. From what I saw, I would

1952 Conaway Ranch, 2 mi. east of Woodland, Yolo Co., Calif.
Mar. 15 Almost all the Mallards seen today
along the south boundary of the ranch
were paired up. There was no sign of
territorial activity, yet, however.
April 26 Chiles Ranch, 3 mi. N.E. of Davis, Yolo Co., Calif.

pair were flushed from a drainage ditch,
right beside the water tank + windmill
on the eastern boundary of the ranch.

drainage ditch across the road on the
north boundary of the ranch. They were
about .2 mile east of the ranch building.
As I drove by, all of them were flattened
out in the shallow water with just
