Mayhew 1958 Dec. 20 Palm Desert, Riverside Co., Calif. Rio del Sol Road on Clavey Lane (just north of Whitewater River channel), a dirt road to the left leads away from Clavey Lane about 1 mile from Rio del Sol (Pabonino Drive goes right at the same spot). By following this dirt road 1½ miles, one reaches the dunes. We returned to UCR from Palm Desert, reaching UCR at 1640. The entire trip covered 398 miles. It was obvious that adult Urna in both our collecting areas are not at all active at this time of year (at least, not this year). The weather was as fine as one can expect at this time of year, so if they are even active at this time, one would expect them to have been active this time. The adult Urosaurus this trip was a surprise, since we didn't expect any of them to be active yet. Journal 124.
