Mayhew 1958 Aug. 1 Mt. Baldy, Los Angeles Co., Calif. stream bed about 50 feet from the road. at approximately 1000 we headed back up the slope, stopping at Glacier Campground for lunch (5475 feet elevation). after lunch we captured both Sceloporus graciosus and Sceloporus occidentalis as well as Cnemidophorus tigris. In fact, one of the largest Cnemidophorus I've seen was captured here. again, nearly all the Sceloporus we caught were o?o? These animals were still active on the sunny rock surfaces until we left at 1330. By then it was too late to go to the top of the road, so we returned home. We found it is approximately 40 miles from UCR to the end of the road on Mt. Baldy. Aug. 5 Colorado Desert, Calif. Dr. Dean Parker (our new chairman), Frank Aubry & I left Riverside at 0415 and drove to the future site (we hope) of our desert research area near Palm Desert. We reached the area about 0545 and observed the canyon from above. Uta stansburiana and Cnemidophorus
