Mojave and Arizona Deserts, California. Supposed to be only 25% of the entire desert land at any given time. A lot of this area was also called in the Grand Canyon & Fort Irwin, CA. In fact, I saw a 190 mile stretch of road from Vegas to LA that had no signs of life (except for the occasional cactus). The temperature was around 211 degrees Fahrenheit! This is not a joke - it's true! There were many times when I thought about turning back because I felt like I was going crazy out there alone. But then again, maybe that's part of what makes traveling so exciting? You never know where you'll end up next!
