Aug 7. 1920 Monday -
A.M. Yuncas.
Returned to Hempstead 4/1 P.M. train
with Mr Mills & Mrs DuVal.
A memorable Vacation!
The wild indigo in profuse bloom imparts
a yellow green to the rolling downs
So different from the poor green of
Early June and the purples pinks
& browns of Autumn.
Polygon folsyanea & P. viridescens
with Euphoria Namorous & Sarcocarpus
asteroides characteristic flowers of the
rolling downs but not beautiful masses
of wild indigo dominating all.
In the Swamp hollows Aspidotis
occidentalis in flower & huckleberry
and ripe & luscious fruits of swamp
Locally in few masses the Yellowroot.
