June 31 Went to wireless station in mangroves there saw 3 or 4 longtail parrots lay said nested in dead tree stub 50 feet high one bird came over & saw 3 others in dead tree farther in mangroves but next Mr T single pair of birds flew toward treestump but also top of mangrove tree. Shot one as flying past hang about over mangroves dozen Java sparrows sitting on fence by rice field shot 8- all young. Little later 3 adults flew up into coconut leaf & shot all 3 falling into ricefield strawberry finch single pair gamadon more common than feral duck
