Lehner, P. 1965 JAN. 29 guywire census day; a few Sooty Terns seen on the ground at 0800; checked under the concrete slab on the east beach but could find neither the X-mas Island Shearwaters or any eggs - there were, however, two nests; Brown Boobies feeding heavy in the lagoon; Gray-backed Tern eggs now total 10 on the islet and 6 on the pier; there were several thousand Sooties over the island by 1900.
