Measurement of length is 5/6th
of two longest tail feathers which
seem to be differently shaped from
the others, so that at first they
look like coverts. Thighs very
macular. Tish white
Iris dark brown.
When walking up a gulch at
the foot of a steep peak a
pair of these Partridges flushed
from the grass about ten feet
ahead of. The female went
first closely followed by the
male, which I knew by the
black under tail coverts. I
