Top of a dead Pine, Time 10 a.m.
Note "cm"
repeated about once a second.
Heard another but failed to find
it. The only others I ever saw
were a flock of four, near Mt.
Bayard & N. Peak in 1876.
Stomach empty.

Found a flock of three Warblers
this morning, high up a steep
mountain side. They were feeding
along northward. As it was very
difficult climbing in account of the
loose rocks I had to shoot at shorter
range than I liked.
