Explanatory
The following M.S. notes
relate to a collection
of bird skins made for
me in Arizona by
Mr. F. Stephens, and now
included in my general
collection. They are in
short the collectors field-
notes and were originally
in the form of blank books
of small size, each of which
was sent to me as soon
as filled, with the birds
which it catalogued.
The numbers in red will
are those of my own catalogue.
The encircled numbers relate
to birds which I have
disposed of to others; all
not thus checked will
be found in any collection
William Brewster.
