(Morse's Mill) Bernardine Mt. Cala and I did not find them in southern New Mexico altho the cariors of two raffles Gila is suited to their habits. My attention was called to the song of some bird, crowing from the mountain brook running past camp. I thought at first it was the song of some Mocking Thrush for it sounded very similar. On looking for the author I found the sound came from behind some Willows at the water's edge and observing ripples in the water as if some bird was bathing. I was still more puzzled as I could not see the bird.
