12 Mch 8/ Morse's Mill 7,000 ft. 5723 36 Callipepla agramadæ 10.2 X 12 F J. brown. Found in desert plains, seldom in the vicinity of water. Usually found in flocks of six to ten, occasionally as many as twenty to thirty. Shy and in most places difficult to get; in most cases I do not get more than one out of a flock. 37 Melanerpes formicivorus F 5724 J. white. Not very common here. I have never seen any acorns driven into holes bored in the bark of trees for that purpose here as the sp. is in the habit of doing in Cali. Otherwise there is little difference in their habits. 5725 38 Picus stricklandi 8.2 X 14.3 F Killed at very short range. No Char. B. Cory.
