12 Mch 81 Chiricahua Mts A.O. 5722 35 Aphlecoma var. arizonae 129X9.7 9 Idk brown. Good broken acorns dc. Found in the foothills mostly. So in flocks, of five to twenty. Nestles and in most localities shy, but around Mills dc where they feed on the grain mixed through the horse droppings they are more easily approached; as is usual with all birds, when they are not accustomed to the presence of human beings, they are very shy of them. Arrived at Morres Mill This P.M. This mill is about five miles up the canyon where it widens out in a sort of basin having a circle of moun- tains about it two or three thousand feet still higher.
