3, June 17 Dunfa Lowell. 6169 482 Glaucomus forerugineum 7 X 13? 8 I. yellow, Bill greenish yellow, One yellowish green, Tocs dull Greenish yellow, Claws black, I have heard this or another from sunrise for half an hour to the same species several morning singing? in the Cottonwoods near camp, and this morning succeeded in finding it. The note was "clack "crack- cack" repeated about twice per second for several seconds, quite loud for the size of the bird. At each note it perked the tail, and the head was thrown back with the bill pointed out. A few times heard the syllables "cluck" replace the other lower, as they were not audible as far. I have heard a small Cool for several evening which is probably this species as it Different calls from that of the Whitewing Owl.
