Shy and difficult to entice out in sight sufficiently to shoot at. By throwing stones near where I hear them, they will sometimes venture out to see what the disturbance is. 5700 13 Ditto 5.6X7.8 ♂ Shot through the head. 5701 Molothrus lincolnii 5.3X7.6 ♀ Extremely fat. 5702 Prince. (caniceps) 6.3X9 ♀ I cannot tell now whether this is caniceps or dorsalis. The best account of the sp. of prince I have seen is in Henshaws Report on birds collected by Linn in Ariz. State N. M. & Cols. which I have not at hand.
