Not near laying. 6079 392 Contopus pertinax 7.7x12.5 9 Jth brown, Bill above black, below yellow, dusky toward tip. Keeps Halt. Went to the summit of this range, to see if there were any species there that were not here, but found little difference. The country on the other side looks very bare. Killed a Dur. Saw a suspicious moccasin track. Found a nest of four Arizona jay eggs, near hatching; that some were clipped. 6080 393 Chordeiles tityensis 8.8x22 18 6081 394 Ditto 8.1x20 9 Jth brown, Bill brownish black, Tub hole brown. A number came past at twilight. I would have laid down.
