Point of bill below and from third above black, rest of upper mandible reddish brown, below purplish red. Feet black. Olyeamous in colour. Three shots aim, I might have shot one but I thought to get two at one shot when they all suddenly darted off. Note flat. Different from other Hammers. Heard another Species of Hammer. 6044 357 Dendroica nigrescens 5.x7.5 9 6045 358 Picus stricklandi 7.7X14.2 9 I have not before seen this smoky brown Tinge to the plumage. 6046 359 Pyrranga leucophrys 7.8x12.1 9 Bill Black above, bluish brown below. Legs leaden, & brown. Will not halt but fly a long time. Only one seen yet. Range from lower fries through Arroyos to foothills.
