27 april 8 into Sherd was "Churpi". For several times I heard a "Tu-tu-m--n". This morning I commenced cutting down Cactus again and after falling a dozen or so I found this one. Found my eggs of any kind. This female was rather nearer laying them the first. Saved this one sternum. After skinning this I went out and cut some Cactus and again succeeded in getting one. On the way to camp I shot an Oeturns cunculatus, as the horses were suffering for want of food and water, I did not stop to skin them last two but moved camp to the river. 5983 296 Micrathene whitneyi 5.9x15.2 ♀ Near laying. I say; where are the males?
