Ceryle alcyon. 1908 Ceryle alcyon Baake August 10 Umbagog Never before have I known kingfishers to occur in summer fashion as seen in summer times. The color & its community rules is not now one where there a dozen last year at this time to-day about the stores in Point and Glossy Cove making a single birds. Indeed I have met with but them for, one dam on the occasion yesterday, the other almost daily at Umbagog. I think has noticed a number of kingfishers along Bear River in Heady. Coolidge tells me he shoots a bird he can & that he has had a dozen or more at miles in Lyman but they are not common for the change they have always been considered them by almost every one.
