Surnia ulula caparoch. Maine / Surnia ulula hudsonica. 1854 Nov. Under date of Nov. 14th Manly Hardy writes that Bowler of Bangor has had twenty Hawk Owls on the flesh up to date from various parts of Maine. This taken in connection with the occurrence of two at Upton during my recent trip would seem to indicate that there is a compar- atively heavy flight this year. Sixteen of Bowler's Hawk Owls were received previous to Nov. 4th. Nov. 17. Two Hawk Owls which I received on the 19th from Brann Sargent, Upton, Me. must have been shot L. Umbagog, Maine. Surnia ulula hudsonica Oct. 25, 31 Shot: Shot: Surnia ulula Oct. 12 (shot) - 19 (Bernard P.) - 24 (shot at Moose Pt. 1884. 1889
