Oct. 19 I shot three snipe to-day on the
meadows near the mouth of Cambridge
River on the 17th the ther. fell to 12°
and yesterday to 9°. On both days
the meadows were frozen hard until
nearly noon.
Oct. 26th started three snipe to-day.
" 23. " shooting on the meadows
at the Outlet. The meadows at the time
were frozen hard enough to bear me
(ther 10° this morning) & all the meadow pools
are frozen solid,
