Bucephala americana
Saw one to-day fishing with a flock of Sheldrake. It flew with them also. I saw an adult & several days ago. These birds are not common here this autumn.
Oct. 31. Shot two from a flock of four, one of those killed was in moulting transition plumage. I hardly know whether to call it an adult or young (skin preserved) It was very pretty & done well but did not kill the body entirely.
