Myers 1974 Flocks 06 (13,14) Estancia Wiedeland, 35 km S of Tandil by road, Ribo de Madinaga, Provincia de Bs As, Argentina 29 September (see journal) 1806 - 12 buffin going west toward (13,14) region 1810 1VL = 350 fc flock of buffins air (11,13) favoring 15 goldens flying towards La Manga spotted by horses, clouds 20% slight S. wind temp = 11. 1815 1VL = 500 fc 1819 5 bairdi flying south, high, calling 1820 1VL = 400 ft cup display in buffins air (11,13). call 3-5 seconds. 1825 1VL = 300 fc 1828 Flock of buffins landed near (11,13) - there I'd been watching probably 1830 1VL = 260 6 buffins flying into Solanum by car. chased off by buckles continued to fly over field in circles, eventually working to (11,13) flock as they went over, the landed birds flew up + joined. Then 8 more went air from ? making a total of 30 landed in Solanum again; chased out 1835 1VL = 260. Buffins still flying over field, going between 2-3 acre circles each, usually slow but occasionally up to 20 m. 1836 9 more social them in flight. Flock <1m over ground. 1838 landed 1840 1VL = 200 fc golden calling. I've seen several Asia hunting in the area today 1841 golden calling big flock over old plowed field. couldn't follow 1845 1VL = 100 fc. 9 WR going over toward La 19,9. 1849 more goldens calling sun on horizon. many storks flying. many goldens - several hundred flocks of small peeps. 1850 1VL = 32 fc.
