Sept. This notwithstanding, from literally drowned
through this month & there is no
about Umbagog any imigation. There is an extremely
decrease of spruce cones this year & the White-billed
have very little food; almost nothing in their nests.
I have been fishing with the Crossin, they winter here
except that like the Crossin, they winter here
in numbers only during years when this food
abounds "among the White Wts. This month (W. Parker)

This resembles the "wot-wot" call
of S. canadensis but is less loud
& full & carries less far. I take it to
be this song.
