Sylvania pusilla. 1896 Lake Umbagog. August 22 2 ad. ♀ nest black cap. copy 5 22nd The bird seen on this date was in alders near the little school house at Upton & within 30 yds. or less of the spot where I found a ♂ nesting on June 12th last. Probably both were one & the same individual. The one seen to-day appeared to be an adult ♂ in full summer plumage. It was flitting about among the alders & once chased an adult ♀ Redstart; a few minutes later it had a noisy squabble with what looked like another bird of brown greyish.
