August 30 ©
Aug. 30, first before sunset I found
two warblers feeding in a thicket of
briars & bushes by the roadside at the head
of Sargent's Cove. I called them out & feeding
I identified one of them beyond a doubt but I
don't know if under my glass in a good light &
in them 20 ft. off for several minutes at a time.
the other was more suspicious & did not allow
itself close of the foliage but H. celata, both
outward that it also was a H. celata. Both
behaved exactly alike & kept close together
beneath the thinnest they were very active
under this thin & tickled their wings nervously
and restless & twitched their tails
together. They also waggled their tails
slightly while and moved themselves.
They kept
thin out attracted by my keeping them light
among the downy foliage flickering & dropping about
the ground that I saw best looked like a
crow, the bird had a little flash yellow on the
of wing only a little flash yellow on the
middle of the breast the throat & sides being
merely plain ash-y.
