Zonotrichia leucophrys. Zonotrichia leucophrys Aut. occurrence in Me. On the knoll behind the Sale House I saw a White-crowned Sparrow so distinctly that I am positive of its identity. It was in company with Song Sparrows in a brush fence. I had no gun but by “squeaking” I called it out and got a good view of it. It was a young bird in fall plumage. I have never seen this species here before but Dean examined one that was killed by Pich’s Cat in May, 1870. Upton, Maine Oct. 5, 1882 Oct. 9th 1882.
