Castano Overo, in mallin 88-04-3 m 156 72 18 testis 3.5, white; sv 2 mm 88-04-4 m 170 81 18 t 4, white; sv 2 May 5. 12km W Bariloche, which is the steppe between the Centro Atomico and the hipodromo, accessed from the back road to Catedral. 66 Sher mans overnight, half of them in the nire steppe and half in screubby cutover cipres caught 3 small olivaceus; did not seem to have the colored feet of xanthorhinus, nor the grizzled effect. Saved two skins and one in formalin. When handled they squeezed, unlike Akodon longipilis, which were silent and more tranquil. Same lines caught 4 longipilis and scads of Oryzomys. I lost track of which traps held the olivaceus.
