Pearson-1989 39 Dromiciops October 16 - Llao Llao Peninsula. Caught one in a Sherman trap baited with rolled oats. Seemed sick, dispirited. In cage when it did become active it ran round and round frantically. No testes visible. No vocalizations. October 17- Captive ate apple and Oryzomys carcase overnight. Did not seem to eat German celery greens or canned shellfish paste. Was more alert in the morning, but still doing round-the-rounds on the floor of the cage and upside down from the wire top. Did not eat Mar del Plata cheese, nor dulce de membrillo. November 22 -- This captive has been eating only apple and mouse carcasses. Seems to prefer liver, kidneys, etc., but does not consume very much. Its tail has not become fat. Lately, it has been catching flies in its cage during the daytime. Rather adept at it.
