the 2 burrows (1 feet apart) "marked" by the Rattlesnake. No dropping inside, a dry soft grass nest about 3 feet made one of them, about 1 foot below surface, a layer of pebbles about 8" down. One bunch grass at the edge of the meadow is plane-stroked, base not at all colored, =? Stipa beccabii? Then farther out lots of taller clumps with pale rose- lavender bases, not grazed, =? Stipa species? And a few clumps of completely grazed blue-green bunch grass. Part of the carpet of the little Roseaceae with highly dissected leaves = [illegible] Summary: Nothing in the meadow; some adults around burrow. April 30 2 hour E Estesin Ranto meadow with adrian. Trophed in craytrops at Ridge Clump 5 of RR: #86-14 & 227 x 98 x 35 x 24.5 69 g. Pelina not open, Chromosome age 3 to Muller Zelebro #86-15 232 x 94 x 75 x 26 65 g. Pelina not open, Vague was open, age 3 Chromosome to Muller Zelebro. went out with NVGA sharing with adrian, no meow, breezy, 8:04 to 9:50. Saw one species near fence & plastic at 8:14; at 8:30 2 in fences, meadow, quite skittish, windy clear. Touched rope with nose. at 9:00 saw lot east edge of brush pit, adrian saw it or another one. 9:15 at east edge 1/2" (same one?); 9:20 one East of there in juniper (same as one pair?); 9:40 a smallish one by post hole at fence (trapped)
