April 25 Barildeo. Visited Galapins. Profal has visited
the Scao Scao and Cerro Otto cliffs a couple of
times. There has been a lot of commercial
cane cutting on Cerro Otto, and a few canes
were cut from one of our measured clumps.
Rappoport interested in species diversity of local
rodents. Then went to INTA where I saw Bellati,
Bonino, and Juliatta. Bellati is using scent posts
(fish bait) plus tracks in the smoothed earth
around the posts to study foxes; gray fox at
Pilconingen and red fox at Estancia El Condor.
They took me around to meet Guillermo Sippredi
who dashed off a key to the common grasses
for me.
At least 4 Sphaerodes marmoreus using
the feeder on the balcony. They give a long
wobbling acrobatics when they are squabbling,
and sit patiently on the railing when the feeder
is occupied.
Have seen no yellow jackets.
April 26 Bittail clouds, at 3 p.m. drove out to Pinto
Mano and put about 16 Shermana totals with pole
at the Emanuelp patio (4 km E). The louse by was
