Branchee, april 25,26 - Baridoso. Working on owl paper, Drove up Challuara Sunday morning, ferns and trees gorgeous but not yet at peak color. Only one other car on the road. april 27, Baridoso. Alberto Sosa arrived from Felipe Calde. We drove to the cliff over Estancia Tegual Wabal and looked for owl pellets. Found only one: an [illegible]. Then drove to Est. Fortin Chacabuco and looked under the willows for pellets (Bulo). Found only a dozen or so old fragmented pellets: 1 [illegible], 1 Cholom, 1 Cholan pouttholimius, and several Reithrodon and [illegible] x - see alberto april 28 Drove to Est. San Ramon and Se Fragua Conrod + Arturo were fixing a truck (and fixed my battery cables). They had no fires in the summer, say that the road to Picamayen is going to be paved soon and that it will destroy the molino de Villages. Warful says the road will go through the meadow where we studied Reithrodon. Given Brewer's swidden family, when the Sogua Sos junces dried off, walked to the pond at the headquarters of San Ramon - maybe 2 kms. Water leak crisis in apartment, then to Refugio Newman with alberto, just before dark shot 26 Shernous and I shot 36 Shernous used 12 cagatrofs, all along fallen logs or rotting wood pile. He had a few at holes at the base of tree also. This was a few hundred m down the road from the Refuge.
