Looking for a burn (of forest fire). The edge of one is
visible from Paloma Blanca, but a little higher says
the big burn is much farther in. Worked on the pallet
papers.
April 21. Partly cloudy, a few sprinkles. To INIA and saw
Bonita, Gabriella, Rosa Valverde, and the statistician.
Then home to pallets, Michael, Patricia, Adrian,
sprinkles.
April 22. Baribabo. Rain. Tested mice overnight with
Lerpa seeds supplied by Veronica. Mice had
carrots and rolled oats available. All three species
spawned an appreciable number of seeds, even
though there does not seem to be much "mad"
sort of Elio Bumet seeds. The mice were 2 Cala
porthorhina, 2 Abderan longifolia, and 2 Cryzopuma
afternoon started windy. Adrian Moryan came to talk
about his thesis, and Carlos Carranza (former park guard).
Went to Fundacion Baribabo and saw Ballodrin
and Isabel. Isabel quotes Jorge Morello as saying
that during a forest fire in Araucaria, cones exploded
and shot seeds 100m! A falling tree has squashed
one of our Ploc Ploc bamboo clumps.
April 23. Baribabo. Adrian Moryan and Javier Bellat visited,
Javier says only grey fijer at Silvingsen, and almost
all red fijer at El Cordor, thinks they probably meet
at Potlisequ river.
April 24. To Canello and back with Adrian Moryan to show
him our tripping site (where he is going to measure.
